PRODUCTION OF CYTOKINS INDUCED BY ENDOTOXIN PREPARED FROM PORPHYROMONAS ENDODONTALIS ATTCC 35406

cyto-immunological activities of endotoxin prepared from Porphyromonas ATCC 35406 were examed inproduction of interlukin-1(IL-1), tumor necrosis factor(TNF), colony stimulating factor(CSF) and Shwartzmanpreparatory Dose50 (SPD50). The results demonstrated that IL-1 can be produced at dose 0.1ng of endotoxin. Andlevel of IL-1 correlated with the dose od endotoxin; The endotoxin can also induce production of sera TNF atdose of 1.0ug in mice, TNF can be found in sera of mice after endotoxin injection one hour later, anddisappeared within six hours; the resultS still revealed this endotoxin have a inducing activity on macrophages of mouse in production of CSF at the dose 0.1ug and have a character of dose dependence; the SPD50 ofPorphyromonas endotoxin was 64ug in local Shwartzman reaction. Those results demonstrated the inducingactivities of Porphyromonas endotoxin on cytokins may be inportant for its pathogenisis in clinical infection.
