PRIMARY STUDY ON PATHOGENESIS OF VIRUSES ISOLATED FROM CULTIVATED PENAEID SHRIMPS
|
Abstract:
The healthy, virus-free shrimps of Penaeus iaponicus were infected with the baculovirus isolated from P.japonicus and the spheroid-virus isolated from P.penicillatus respectively. The mortality of the infected shrimps was 65% for the baculovirus group and 50% for the spheroid-virus group and only 25%for the control group.Among the factors investigated in the cultivated environment, the lift of temperature and the low atmospheric pressure were suggested to be the most important factors that could cause the viral disease of cultivated penaeid shrimps.
