TO IDENTIFY GAS LAYERS USING THE CONVENTIONAL STACKED PROFILES AND NEAR, FAR OFFSET TRACE STACKED PROFILES :AN EXAMPLE OF GAS RESERVOIR IN HE 8 SEGMENT IN SULIGE GASFIELD, ORDOS BASIN
|
Abstract:
The application of "bright spot" technique in seismic detection of upper Paleozoic clastic rock gas layers in Ordos basin is greatly restricted due to deep burial depth of target formations, small thickness of gas layers, small wave impedance differences between surrounding rock and gas layer, and no apparent physical property or fluid interfaces, etc. To bring into full play of the sensitivity of prestacked seismic information in detecting gas reservoir, the response characters of gas reservoirs are studied for both conventional stacked profiles, and near, far offset trace stacked profiles with AVO characteristics, which is formed by stacking respectively of the CMP gathers of small angles part and wide angles part, to identify gas layers synthetically.
