Discussion on the Founding Contribution of Nineteen Types of Pathogeneses from Su Wen to Chinese Medicine Meridian Tropism
|
Abstract:
The five afferens and five trend theories are generally considered as the origination of meridian tropism. The theory is based on the relation between five tastes and viscera. We find the relation between five tastes and viscera is flexible and indeterminateness. Therefore, the deduction via five elements does not belong to theoretical sublimation of clinical experience. Consequently, it is not the unique or main stream of theoretical origination. The nineteen types of pathogeneses from Su Wen reveal the nature of diseases, identifies the pathogenic location of five viscera directly or indirectly, and provide the theoretical support for counterevidence based on clinical curative effect. Through the comparison and analysis between traditional medicine function and meridian tropism, and the application of nineteen types of pathogeneses and the clinical in the Ming and Qing dynasty, the nineteen types of pathogeneses from Su Wen has been proved to play an indispensable roll in the establishment of the meridian tropism theory.
