Notoginseng Panax notoginseng (Burk.) F.H. Chen] is not only one of the important traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbs, but also a renewable specific bio-resource which is suitable for industrial production. In this article, through the discussion of current research and development of notoginseng, as well as its production situation and market trend, the developing strategy of notoginseng industry was presented based on scientific and technical innovation.
