Analogism——A Cognitive Model of Chinese Metaphor

Analogism which is regarded as a major theoretical construction tool of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) plays an important role in concept design, theory systematization and so on. Using the core theoretic tool of modern cognitive science (metaphor), we have compared and analyzed structures, mechanisms and other elements of analogism to come to a conclusion that the substance of analogism is "Chinese metaphor". This paper is valuable to further understand the construction mechanism and the cognitive process of TCM. It gives some enlightenment as well to practically understand basic issues of TCM, such as what the exact language of TCM is, why it says in that way, what the exact meaning is and so on.
