Curved Surface Approximation in Correlation Recognition Method

Abstract:
A curved surface approximation method used for correlation recognition calculation is discussed in this paper. By using the statistical properties of the correlation coefficient, a curve or curved surface approximation of correlation coefficient is calculated, and then the matching point is obtained through evaluating its derivative function. Compared to sub pixel progressive searching method, this method enhances the speed of calculation in correlation recognition remarkably.
