Research Advances in Toxicological Effects of Pesticide and Fertilizer Pollutants on the Anuran Larvae
|
Abstract:
The amphibian is considered as a suitable animal model to determine the toxicity of polluted environmental and to monitor the environmental health. The embryonic development and metamorphosis of amphibians are highly dependent on the water, and the gill and skin are highly permeable. When exposed to pollutants, amphibians can be changed obviously on the level of the molecule expression, cellular and tissue structure, and physiology. The pollutants may affect the survival and growth of amphibians. In this paper, it was summarized and reviewed that the toxic effect of pesticides and fertilizers on the behavior, growth and development, structural, physiological and biochemical changes of amphibian larvae, in order to provide a comprehensive scientific basis for monitoring the environment of water and logical rational use of agricultural compounds.
