EFFECT OF GUANIDINE HYDROCHLORIDE ON THE CATION-INDUCED EXCITATION ENERGY DISTRIBUTION IN THE BARLEY THYLAKID MEMBRANES
|
Abstract:
The results show that Mg2 induce a sigifciant increase of Chla F686/F736 at 77 K of thylakoid membranes without GuHCl. With GuHCl thylakoid membranes treated the Mg2 regulating excitation energy distribution effect was declined with the increase of the GuHCl concentration. The above evidence suppeds that GuHCl could damage proteins which is related to Mg2 -induced effects on LHC-II of thylakoid membranes. LHCP1 and LHCP2 components showed the disappearance of SDS-PAGE pattern of Chlorophyll-proteins complexes of the thylakoid memberanes treated with GuHCl. The results indicate that Mg2 -induced effects being lost on the thylkoid membranes modified by GuHCl may relate to the damage of LHCP1, LHCP2 components of LHC-II.
