STUDIES ON THE CORRELATION BETWEEN THE STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION OF INSECT PESTS COMMUNITY AND NATURAL ENEMIES COMMUNITY IN COTTON AGROECOSYSTEMS
|
Abstract:
Based on the systematical investigation and determination of specieses richness, total individual numbers, diversity indices and production of insect pests comunity and natural enemies community in eight different cotton agroecosystems, the correlation between their structure and function was analysed. The results show: 1) with the enhancement of production in higher trophies, the total individual numbers and community production of insect pests or natural enemies increased, and their diversity indices fluctuated, 2) insect pests community production increased when their total individual numbers increased and its diversity indices decreased, but no significant correlation was founded between their species richness and community production, 3) natural enemies community production increased with the enhancement of its specieses richness and total individual numbers, the correlation between its production and diversity indices were found to be very complex. The theory on the correlation between the structure and function in ecocybernetics of cotton agroecosystems as well as its application to regulation of insect pests and natural enemies of the ecosystem were also discussed.
