THE EFFECTS OF TEMPERATURE ON THE NUTRIENT CONCENTRATIONS IN SOIL SOLUTION
|
Abstract:
Study was conducted to undersdand the effects of temperature on the nutrient concentrations in soil solution. The result showed that there was a significantly positive correlation between soil temperature and nutrient concentration in soil solution when soil water was pot deficient to plant growth. NO3-N concentration decreased rapidly due to root uptake in afternoon of a sunny day. The maximum concentration of potassium in soil solution was found when the highest temperature was approximately reached at 14 P.M. , and the minimum concentration in night and between 10 A.M. and 11 A.M. The minimum concentration between 10 A.M. and 11 A.M. may be due to potassium uptake by plant. The LAI of plant increased rapidly and plant grew fastly when the nutrient concentration in soil solution had a great daily fluctuation .
