ESR STUDIES ON PRODUCTION OF ACTIVE OXYGEN FREE RADICALS EN ISCHEMIC MYOCARDIUM BY POLYMORPHONUCLEAR LEUKOCYTE
|
Abstract:
The active oxygen free radicals produced by polymophonuclear leukocytes (PMN) in ischemic myocardium induced by over vitamine D3 (VD) were studied with electron spin resonance (ESR). It was found that the active oxygen free radicals were about 43% more in ischemic myocardium induced by VD than those in normal myocardium, and about 73% more than those in the normal myocardium washed with 10ml normal saline, and about 65% more than those in the ischemic myocardium induced by VD3 and washed with 10ml normal saline. This indicated that PMN played a key rule in production of active oxygen free radicals in ischemic myocardium.
