Auto injerto conjuntival con células límbicas en el tratamiento del pterigión, China 2009

objective: to assess the procedure of conjuntival autograft with limbic cells to treat primary pterygium in the residents of henan province, people's republic of china. method: an applied, descriptive and cross-sectional research was conducted having a target group of 235 chinese patients from january to december 2009; the sample was comprised of 132 who were operated on pterygium. results: the mean age of patients was 48.58±14, 32 and 57.5% were men. recurrence and complications were present in 8 cases (6.06%). the level of satisfaction was good in the 80% of cases. conclusions: conjuntival autograft with limbic cells is a very useful procedure to treat pterygium in chinese population.
