Sistema de vigilancia de salud a nivel de la atención primaria

the present paper was submitted to the first national workshop on health surveillance held at "pedro kourí" institute of tropical medicine, in october, 1994. a proposal of the model to put into practice a health care is described. this model is developed taking into account the characteristics and the structure of this level of attention, with the modest experience of the authors on this regard, and according the characteristics of the area of "19 de abril" polyclinic, where this project is applied. the paper is divided into two parts: in the first part it is explained the general and theoretical conception on the aspects that should be taken into consideration in a surveillance system, its objectives, components, events that should be watched over, information sources and flow, as well as its structure. in the second part, it is briefly explained the way to use it at the polyclinic, and the data collected for the processing and analysis of information are defined.
