Rotura renal bilateral espontánea en la poliarteritis nodosa

a patient with polyarteritis nodosa whose diagnosis was based on clinical, histological and arteriographic aspects was presented. it was observed, evolutively, an unusual and repeated complication: spontaneous renal rupture with retroperitoneal hematoma, at first in the right kidney and 8 days later, in the left. he lost his kidneys and he was under hemodialytic treatment during 3 months until he died. it was really rare within the complications of polyarteritis nodosa and the bilateral presentation was an exceptional event. just a few reports were found in world medical literature.
