Resinas de intercambio iónico para prolongar la liberación de los fármacos

the study of the ion exchange resins as systems for the prolonged release was conducted, making emphasis on the factors affecting the formation of resinates or drug-resin complexes. the release of the active principles was also studied starting from the complexes and the finished forms containing them. the factors affecting this process and the kinetics to which it is adjusted were evaluated, too. the combinations of technological processes (mainly the formation of ion complexes and their coating) potentiating the usefulness of resinates to prolong the release by combined mechanisms of ion exchange and difussion through membranes, combinations directed to reduce the limitations inherent to each process separately and to achieve an efficient control of the release of ion drugs, were reviewed.
