%0 Journal Article %T As implica£¿£¿es do bullying na auto-estima de adolescentes %A Bandeira %A Cl¨¢udia de Moraes %A Hutz %A Claudio Simon %J Psicologia Escolar e Educacional %D 2010 %I Associa??o Brasileira de Psicologia Escolar e Educacional %R 10.1590/S1413-85572010000100014 %X in this study we aim at investigating adolescents involved in bullying as victims, aggressor or victim/aggressor or even witness. we are interested in identifying the differences in their self-esteem according to gender. the participants, 465 adolescents (52.7% males), completed the rosenberg self-esteem scale and a bullying questionnaire. results showed an interaction between gender and the participants¡¯ roles in bullying in relation to self-esteem. post-hoc analyses showed that in the victims/aggressors group, boys revealed higher self-esteem than the girls. male witnesses presented higher self-esteem than victims. female aggressors presented higher self-esteem than the victims/aggressors group. the results also show that bullying is a very common phenomenon which bring about different implications for girls and boys self-esteem. we propose new studies to clarify some of these issues. %K bullying %K self-esteem %K gender. %U http://www.scielo.br/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S1413-85572010000100014&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
