%0 Journal Article %T Evaluaci¨®n epidemiol¨®gica de las t¨¦cnicas de ELISA y electroinmunotransferencia en el diagn¨®stico de la hidatidosis ovina en la XI Regi¨®n de Chile %A VARGAS %A DANILO %A BONET %A RAFAEL %A CAMPANO %A SERGIO %A CHACON %A TOMAS %A VIDAL %A MACARENA %J Parasitolog¨ªa al d¨ªa %D 2001 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %R 10.4067/S0716-07202001000300004 %X with the purpose of optimising the diagnosis of sheep hydatidosis in the xi region of chile and contributing to the sero-epidemiological study of this disease, elisa and electroimmuno transfer (e.i.t.) were standarizated and evaluated technical and epidemiologicaly as a screening and reference tests, respectively. a raw extract of proteins taken from hydatid fluid of hepatic ovine cysts was used as antigen for elisa and a fraction of enriched antigen b was used for e.i.t. the standarization of both tecniques was performed with positive and negative sera from sheeps confirmed by macroscopical inspection in slaugtherhouses and histopatology examination. the evaluation was done in 95 sera samples: 54 with confirmed hydatidosis, 11 sheeps with other ethiologies and 30 sera from apparently healthy animals. elisa and e.i.t. presented a 83.3% and 97.6% of sensitivity, 75.6% and 100% of specificity, respectively. the predectives values, positive (vpp) and negative (vpn) are applicable to the regional prevalence. %K hydatidosis %K elisa %K western blot %K antigen b %K diagnosis %K serology. %U http://www.scielo.cl/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0716-07202001000300004&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
