%X there have been quite a few attempts to find an european public for manuel vicent¡¯s work. the first of these took place around 1990, coinciding with the notable renewed interest in contemporary spanish literature in the world republic of letters. on the basis of a comparative analysis of quantitative and qualitative facts and data we will evaluate the successive itineraries of his work through europe. we will conclude that the reception of vicent¡¯s work has been varied and dispersed, and has hardly made any impact. finally, we will propose an explanation for this phenomenon.
