%X robert nozick formulates the principle of rectification of historical injustices, and advocates the possibility of income redistribution in the service of that principle. in the framework of his political theory, i first examine here the concept of rectification as well as some of its critiques. secondly, i address the implications of the principle of rectification for indian land claims. i argue that the principle does not require a redistributive model, and that a proposal more compatible with a respect for nozickean property rights would be the allocation of fiscal land or property to the native peoples.
