%X this paper focuses on the work developed at school mauro faccio gon£¿alves - "zacaria" - since 1996. it also proposes to reflect on fundamental theoretical issues to build public schools committed to serious teaching and learning for children and teenagers living in the s£¿o paulo's outskirts. the report and analysis deals with four axes around which the dynamics of school takes place: the process of teaching and learning, school projects, the importance of management in the construction of a learning environment, teacher training.
