%X from deoxycholic acid 6 two new brassinosteroids analogs bearing oxygenated fuctions in ring c, side chain and cis a/b ring juntion were synthesized. the plant growth-promoting activites of compound 4a and 5 was tested by the hypocotiles elongation and cothyledons expansion of radish bioassay. the compounds 4a showed growth promoting activity at 10-5 mg/ml concentration in both bioassay, while that the compound 5 showed inhibiter effect in the cothyledons expansion test at the same concentration.
