%X catheter-related bacteremia is a major complication in patients with central venous catheters. the conventional management usually implies the device removal and a prolonged antibiotic treatment. antibiotic-lock therapy involves instilling a high concentration of antibiotic into the catheter lumen. we report a nine year-old patient with osteosarcoma and (implantable) catheter-related infection by pantoea agglomerans, successfully treated with lock therapy at the hospital de ni£¿os "dr. ricardo guti¨¦rrez". the objective was to inform the pediatricians about the possibility of additional treatment (lock therapy) in children with catheter related infections.
