%X the purpose of this paper is to explain how the roy adaptation model can be used to guide a combined qualitative and quantitative content analysis of responses to open-ended interviews questions. responses can be categorized as adaptive or ineffective within the physiological, self-concept, role function, and interdependence modes of adaptation and then tallied to yield an adaptation score.
