%X fungal endocarditis, in particular due to candida species, requires medical and surgical treatment and amphotericin b is the drug of choice. caspofungin is an echinocandin very effective against candida and aspergillus. we present a patient with candida tropicalis endocarditis, fluconazol resistant, treated with caspofungin, on a compassional basis as a result of adverse effects with amphotericin b. the patient had a microbiological response.
