%X the clinical case of a patient with bruxism is reported, in whom an acrylic intraoral splint of permanent use was placed, while she was treated by specialists in dental prosthesis to eliminate the cause of that habit and to prevent potential sequelae. the use of the unload splint allowed to perform occlusal adjustment and to eliminate pain, dental mobility and other symptoms and signs attributable to this dysfunction, reason why it is recommended as a viable therapeutic alternative in similar situations.
