%0 Journal Article %T Acceso vascular para hemodi¨¢lisis en pacientes con enfermedad renal cr¨®nica %A Gonz¨¢lez Garc¨ªa %A Emma Esther %A Castillo Montoya %A Rolando %J MEDISAN %D 2009 %I Centro Provincial de Ciencias M¨¦dicas %X the current situation of the vascular approach for hemodialysis was valued by means of a longitudinal and cross-sectional study of active patients that started their treatment from the creation of the department of hemodyalisis in "dr. juan bruno zayas" general teaching hospital of santiago de cuba from 1996 to september, 2008. neccesary data (cause of renal disease, sex, age, type of vascular approach, time in dialysis, previous attempt at arteriovenous fistula and others) were obtained from automated medical records, physical examination and evaluation of the vascular approach. the latter was performed specially through an autogenous arteriovenous fistula located in the elbow anterior flexure; a procedure that had been attempted 2 or more times in 21 patients of the total and it had failed by deficiency of the vessel state and thrombosis of these fistulae. the occurrence of aneurysms was the most frequent complication attributable to the little rotation in the punction site. %K catheters %K indwelling %K catheters %K indwelling [adverse effects] %K renal dialysis %K renal dialysis [mortality] %K quality of life. %U http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S1029-30192009000300005&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
