%X an experimental study was carried out in 150 patients with indication of proteinuria test, attended in £¿conrado ben¨ªtez" provincial oncology hospital of santiago de cuba from june, 2004 to may, 2005, in order to determine the relationship between proteinuira values obtained in a simple urine specimen by means of the derivative formula of cockroft-gault and the traditional method. results revealed that the proposed method was as effective as the traditional one, and besides representing a saving of time and reagents it prevented inaccuracies and trouble for the urine collection during 24 hours, so that it provides the specialist with reliable data, and it is quicker and easier to use.
