%X the aim of this study is to reflect upon the characters£¿ identity in the novel el tornavoz of the mexican writer jes¨²s gardea. this analysis is based, above all, on the figure of the main character c¨¢ndido paniagua. it is an attempt to explore, on the one hand, the relationship between the configuration of plot and character£¿s identity, and on the other, those traits that allow the reader to re-figure his temporality and understand him through his specific actions. in order to develop such reflections, paul ricoeur£¿s analysis of plot as related to narrative identity was employed as a starting point.
