%0 Journal Article %T Efeitos de diferentes intervalos de recupera£¿£¿o na performance muscular em crian£¿as %A Vidal Filho %A Jos¨¦ Carlos de Britto %A Ferreira %A Carlos Ernesto Santos %A Sales %A Marcelo Pereira Magalh£¿es de %A Almeida %A Jeeser Alves de %A Bottaro %A Martim %J Revista da Educa£¿£¿o F¨ªsica / UEM %D 2011 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %R 10.4025/reveducfis.v22i4.13166 %X the purpose of this study was to compare the effect of two different rest intervals between sets of isokinetic knee extension exercise on peak torque (pt), and total work (tw) in children. 18 boys (11.1 ¡À 0.52 yrs, 32.9 ¡À 3.32 kg and 142.6 ¡À 4.78 cm, tanner stage 1 and 2) performed 3 sets of 10 unilateral isokinetic knee extension repetitions at 60¡ã/s and 180¡ã/s. the rest intervals between sets were 1 and 2 minutes. there was no significant decline in pt and tw when 1 and 2 min rest intervals were used at 60¡ã/s and 180¡ã/s. the present study indicated that children need only 1min to recover muscle performance, indicating high resistance to muscle fatigue during high intensity resistance exercise and different movement velocities. %K resistance exercise %K children %K muscular fatigue %K rest interval %K isokinetic exercise. %U http://www.scielo.br/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S1983-30832011000400012&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
