%X in argentina, the public enterprises privatization during the nineties was made possible by the construction of a discourse that legitimized the sale of assets of the state firm. that speech, argued that the state should withdraw from the economy to make way for the free play of market forces. in the case of privatization of ypf, this construction was based on three pillars: the chronic inefficiency of state firms, the need to promote competition and the possibility that workers are transformed into entrepreneurs. here we propose to review those arguments constructed by organic intellectuals and the business community.
