%X a bibliographical revision on carlos juan finlay barr¨¦¡¯s life and work was carried out to widen and deepen knowledge on general medicine and ophthalmology. in short, the life of man who made significant contributions to universal medicine is herein described. as his discoveries about the yellow fever have provided prominent scientific knowledge, so it is necessary to examine his contributions to ophthalmology. some of his more relevant contributions and studies are also pointed out, as well as the description of his technique for cataract surgery.
