%X the influence of the phenomenon enos (el ni£¿o and la ni£¿a) on heat availability, was evaluated by means of the use of the degree-days concept, for 8 sites of venezuela. temperature changes, represented by variations in the degree-days, directly affect the crop£¿s phenological cycle, generating a longer or shorter duration of the cycle in response to negative or positive deviations, respectively. in el ni£¿o events degree-days increase in the majority of the sites, except in sanare where mainly a reduction is encountered; in la ni£¿a years, the effect is the opposite, a decrease is exhibited, that for the case of bram¨®n is highly significant in 11 months of the year.
