%0 Journal Article %T Tratamientos con ¨¢cido indolbut¨ªrico y lesionado sobre el enraizamiento de estacas de icaco (Chrysobalanus icaco L.) %A Ram¨ªrez-Villalobos %A Maribel %A Urdaneta-Fern¨¢ndez %A Aly %A Vargas-Sim¨®n %A Georgina %J Agronom¨ªa Tropical %D 2004 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %X icaco is used venezuela for its fruits and as an ornamental and medicinal plant. fruits are valued as as preserves, jelly and marmalade; and seed have great industrial potential due to their high content in fatty acids. however, this plant presents difficulties in the rooting of stem cuttings. in order to improve rooting, the effect of indolbutiric acid (iba), lesions in the base and cutting type were evaluated. a selection of apical (green) and subapical (semihard) cuttings of 15 cm were treated with iba at 0 and 10.000 mg kg_1 in combination with the execution or not of lesions on cutting base. after six weeks, the rooting percentage (rp), root number by cutting (rn) and length of the longest root (lr) were measured. in apical cuttings with lesions and treated with 10.000 mg kg_1 of iba a rp of 96%, a rn of 26.1 and lr 9.9 cm were obtained; and subapicals without lesions and impregnated with 10.000 mg kg_1 of iba registered a rp of 100%, a rn of 38.6 and lr of 19.1 cm. apical and subapical cuttings without lesions and iba treatments did not emit roots. %K auxin %K lesion %K stem cutting %K chrysobalanus icaco. %U http://www.scielo.org.ve/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0002-192X2004000200005&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
