%X silica is one of the main occupational agents associated with lung cancer. it is classified by the international agency for research on cancer (iarc) as a group 1 substance, i.e., carcinogenic for humans, since 1996. the objective of this paper is to report two cases of workers previously exposed to silica who developed lung cancer, seen in an out-patient clinic, focusing on important points of the current literature on the subject.
