%X leptospirosis is an infectious disease characterized by multisystemic involvement. the lung involvement is common, usually mild and frequently neglected. when respiratory manifestations are prominent in a patient with leptospirosis, there is the potential for diagnostic confusion. the authors report a severe case of leptospiral pneumonia, with the objective of highlighting this etiological possibility of community pneumonia, especially when there is suspicion of epidemic features.
