%X the occurrence of ceramium clarionense from venezuela coast is the first report in the caribbean sea. this is characterized by seven-eight periaxials cells, each one laterally producing a pseudoperiaxial cell, one to two rows of basipetals cells, adventitious branches frequent, forcipate apices and emergent tetrasporangia whorled with cortical involucres. a description of the species is presented with vegetative and reproductive morphological data.
