%X we recorded the case of a 39 year-old man who suffered two episodes of paralysis and hipokalemia associated with hyperthyroidism. this unusual entity, almost exclusively of asian countries, has been documented in western countries; therefore, we present this case to be considered in the differential diagnosis in emergency departments (acta med colomb 2011; 36: 145-148).
