%X the scale insects are considered common pests of many crops, like medicinal plants; however, there is a little known about these insects in these plants in cuba. the objective of this work was determinate the species of scale insects occurring on medicinal plants in different localities of cuba. ten species of scale insects were identified, grouping in nine genus and five families: asterolecaniidae, coccidae, diaspididae, ortheziidae, pseudococcidae. besides, 13 species and ten families of host plants are related with news records for scales insects identified.
