%X this paper collects several educational resources to the teaching and learning in secondary education of binary numbers, a system that students find great difficulties to understand and that the current curriculum for this education level gives insufficient importance, in spite of its multiple applications in daily life. the paper covers the different teaching possibilities a teacher may carry out when teaching binary numbers, going through the numeric pattern of the system, its arithmetic operations and main applications, focused as a search for information that tries to bring the students closer to mathematics. these applications are not only the ones related to computers, but also to the functioning of digital devices. in short, this paper on binary numbers in secondary education shows to the students how the world of mathematics is connected to science and technology to produce great advances to society.
