%X cannabis sativa l. preparations, such as marijuana, hashish and dagga, have been used in medicine for many centuries. it is now known that ¦Ä9tetrahydrocannabinol (¦Ä9-thc) and its related compounds, exert a wide array of effects on the immune, digestive, reproductive, ocular, cardiovascular, and central nervous systems. the present review analyses the literature related to the therapeutic effects of cannabis.
