%X this article analyzes the productive and income expenditure structure of the state of nuevo le¨®n by constructing a social accounting matrix and employing the multiplier effects of the productive sectors over household income in 2004. one of the key elements of our social accounting matrix is that it was constructed using micro data of the encuesta nacional de ingreso y gasto de los hogares (this data allows for disaggregation for different types of households). the main results indicate that the strategic sectors (defined as those that generate the higher expansion effect over household income) of nuevo le¨®n are i) agriculture, livestock, forestry and fshing; ii) commerce, restaurants and hotels; iii) financial services and rental property.
