%X the article explores the spatial association between the human development index, the gini coefficient and the level of urbanization in mexico. we determine the association between the three indexes with a non-parametric measure (¦Ë) as well as with a geographically weighted regression model. we find a negative association between urbanization and inequality, but mostly, our analysis suggests a strong importance of space (the regional distribution of the urban condition) in the local measures of inequality.
