%0 Journal Article %T Estado de salud de una muestra de polic¨ªas y su relaci¨®n con variables policiales %A Castro Bejarano %A Yaneth Roc¨ªo %A Orjuela G¨®mez %A Miguel Andr¨¦s %A Lozano Ariza %A Carlos Ariel %A Avenda£¿o Prieto %A Bertha Luc¨ªa %A Vargas Espinosa %A Nancy Marina %J Diversitas: Perspectivas en Psicolog¨ªa %D 2012 %I Universidad Santo Tom¨¢s %X policemen's job is considered to be a highly stressful profession, given the fact that professionals on this field are exposed to highly violent, harmful and challenging situations. under highly stressful conditions there are both physical as well as psychological indicators that affect directly the policemen's performance as well as their personal and family life. the purpose of this research is to know the mental and physical health situation of the policemen working at the criminal research school (esinc) and its association with demographic, hierarchy policeman grade, degree, area of specialty, and perceptions regarding imparted orders. a descriptive co-relational and transversal study was executed. the participants were selected by a stratified probabilistic sampling method with proportional affixation. the results show that those who consider that the orders received are abruptly given, suffer pain somewhere in their bodies, feel more tired and experience sadness. those who consider that their job is excessively loaded manifested that the physical pain carries on difficulty when performing their daily duties and tasks (including those that pertain to personal matters). %K police %K stress %K physical health %K mental health. %U http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S1794-99982012000100005&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
