%X the objective of this paper is to have a look at rural commerce in the buenos aires pampas en the first decades of the 20 th century. we start from a previous analysis of existent historiography on commerce and traders, as well as a previous analysis and categories that allow us to start thinking about the problem. and we also present some previews of our research in a case study, the store "el progreso" (which was owned by jos¨¦ and francisco vulcano), located in gardey, (tandil county), especially some reflections on the constitution of its commercial space and some features of the relationship store owner/customer in the period of the study (1922-1934).
