Among the Flowers” is the foundational work of Chinese ci poetry and established the aesthetic style of the graceful and restrained school. Liu Miqing’s theory of translation aesthetics systematically constructs a framework of formal and non-formal aesthetics, offering a scientific methodology for literary translation. Guided by Liu’s theory, this paper examines the aesthetic reproduction in the English translation of “Among the Flowers” by American sinologist Lois Fusek, focusing on both the formal and non-formal systems.
