This article discusses the nature, value and implementation suggestions of the English curriculum based on the English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education (2022 Edition). The article first elaborates on the nature of English as a global language and its functions in various fields of society, and emphasises the key role of English in promoting international communication and cultural inheritance. Then, the article analyses in depth the unity of instrumentality and humanity, the fundamental, practical and comprehensive features of the English curriculum. Further, the article discusses the value of the English curriculum. Finally, in order to give full play to the value of the English curriculum, the article puts forward implementation suggestions such as strengthening the integration of disciplines, practicing the view of English learning activities and diversifying evaluation methods, with a view to improving the quality and effectiveness of English education. %K 义务教育, %K 英语课程标准, %K 课程性质, %K 课程价值, %K 语言能力, %K 文化意识
