In recent years, with the frequent occurrence of emergencies around the world, the importance of emergency news reports is becoming increasingly prominent, in which the selection of reporting verbs is of great significance. This paper focuses on the reporting verbs in emergency news reports within mainstream media, both domestically and internationally. We finds that there is a high degree of similarity in the use of reporting verbs across mainstream domestic and international media. Neutral reporting verbs account for the largest proportion (84.55%), followed by positive reporting verbs (9.46%), while negative reporting verbs constitute the smallest share (5.99%). Furthermore, the high-frequency reporting verbs exhibit notable consistency. When covering emergency news, mainstream media—both domestic and international—generally maintain an objective and neutral stance while subtly incorporating a positive undertone. %K 应急新闻报道, %K 转述动词, %K 中性转述动词, %K 积极转述动词, %K 消极转述动词
