Station Eleven is a post-apocalyptic novel by Canadian author Emily St. John Mandel. Through multiple narrative perspectives and a complex narrative structure, the novel illustrated the fragility and resilience of human civilization in the backdrop of a disaster. This paper analyzed the use of omniscient and limited omniscient perspectives in the novel, exploring their narrative and thematic functions. The omniscient perspective enriched the plot and character development by creating suspense and presenting multiple viewpoints, while the limited omniscient perspective deepened the themes of memory, the continuity of civilization, and human diversity through the experiences of various characters before and after the disaster. By skillfully shifting narrative perspectives, Station Eleven successfully revealed the moral dilemmas and the significance of cultural inheritance in the face of catastrophe, demonstrating literature's profound concern for the human spirit and culture.
