This paper explores the promoting role of rural e-commerce development in rural revitalization from the theoretical perspective of Marxism. From the dimension of productive forces, rural e-commerce significantly enhances agricultural productivity through technological progress, value-added product improvement, and green transformation, injecting new momentum into rural revitalization. In terms of production relations, rural e-commerce fosters new types of business entities, broadens employment channels, strengthens farmers’ market pricing power, and drives the transformation of rural production relations. Furthermore, strategies for promoting high-quality development of rural e-commerce are proposed, including strengthening infrastructure construction, cultivating and attracting e-commerce talents, as well as improving policy support and legal guarantees. Rural e-commerce is not only a product of the integration of digital economy and traditional agriculture but also an important approach to realizing the rural revitalization strategy. Guided by Marxist theories of productive forces and production relations, the development of rural e-commerce can effectively promote the sustainable development of rural economies, narrow the urban-rural gap, and advance the modernization of agriculture and rural areas.
